Measuring and Mapping Food Security Status of Rajasthan, India: A District-Level Analysis

The present study tries to analyse the status of food security, along with its various components, such as availability, accessibility, and stability help a multidimensional index across districts Rajasthan, India based on an indicator approach. QGIS mapping computer application quintile method were used map into low, medium, high, very high categories. Furthermore, multiple regression analysis was applied find out significant determinants security respective components. results confirm that there is wide range inequalities in terms components districts. It found Ganganagar district (0.407) rated most food-secure due relatively higher (0.401) Rajasthan state. On contrary, lower availability (0.084) accessibility (0.183) contributed lowest Dungarpur district. Moreover, associated dry regions are highly vulnerable less secure compared having surface irrigation facilities. Hence, recommends; diversification from farm non-farm activities; sufficient storage capacity control price fluctuations throughout year, formulation dissemination climate-resilient technologies; investment infrastructure, promotion water management, conservation technologies, regulation replenishment groundwater rural areas for augmenting cropping intensity; district-specific policies arrest insecurity; strengthening coverage employment programme, i.e. MGNREGA.
